Going Commando – day 14

Sunday: day 14

Session 8: Running to St Aubin’s

We’re starting to look forward to our sessions in a weird sort of way.  Every one pushes us out of our comfort zone, but if feels like an achievement.  The physical changes are starting too – slowly but they’re there.  My training partner reports shirts that were once tight now do up comfortably, and my legs are definitely slimmer and more toned.  Look closely (in the right light!) and you can even see a bit of muscle definition.  My skin feels different – smoother and firmer, and bizarrely enough considering we’re training so much, we feel full of energy.  However, even the fittest of us flounder a bit over deadline weekend, and after a busy few days, our fast sprint to St Aubin’s and back feels like a marathon.  We’re struggling but Adam keeps us going, telling me to lengthen my stride by lifting my knees higher, and it works.  Then just when he thinks I’m getting ‘comfortable’, he throws in a few sprints to raise the pace.  Stretches in the park to finish, then it’s back to work to finish a late deadline….
