Clarins at The Club Spa, Bohemia
Clay Detox Wrap & Pure Skin Facial
My tan’s no longer ‘faded’ it has completely gone, and my skin was looking dire; dried out from overdoing it in the sun this summer and sludgy from being kept hidden under layers of clothing for the last eight weeks. Also my new year’s resolution to body brush only lasted into the first week of February; and it has been such a busy year that I have basically given my body no love whatsoever.
So, to give myself a kick start for the Christmas party season I booked in for the top to toe Clarins luxury face and body treatment. This treatment uses almost all of the Clarins range giving you a real feel for the brand (for those of you who aren’t already addicts) and as well as being truly pampering, it is incredibly good for you.
I started the whole experience by easing myself into the lovely warm swimming pool and making my way over to the beautifully mosaic-ed jacuzzi shelf. I then lay back and relaxed with a cup of Thalgo Detox tea in their calming relaxation room. Suzanne, my Beauty Therapist then came and got me and showed me upstairs to one of their beautifully decorated Treatment rooms, complete with a pink orchid resting on the heated massage table. I loved the incredible level of attention to detail that The Club Spa go to. It is all the little touches which make you feel utterly relaxed and pampered.
The treatment began with a Fruit and Salt Scrub, which Suzanne created specially for my skin’s specific requirements. I opted for a toning scrub so she mixed together natural sea salt, exfoliating fruit powders, toning safflowers and toning body oil. There was also a very tempting option of relaxing lavender flowers and relaxing body oil which I’m looking forward to trying next time! The mixture was applied all over my body in brisk stimulating movements which completely exfoliated my skin. As I showered the mixture off, my skin felt so smooth and was glowing from the buffing. It was so good to see that even though I had really neglected my skin for so long, it could be treated and sorted out in one treatment.
Next in store for me was the White Clay Body Wrap which is made of white clay mask powder, hydrating complex oil, and again I opted for the toning body oil as I really wanted firmer smoother skin from this treatment. This was all mixed together with hot water to form a silky paste which was applied all over and then I was wrapped in plastic sheeting, towelling and a heated blanket! The warm gel like paste all warmed up on my skin felt really lovely. It was so relaxing to be all cocooned up knowing that it was lashing it down with rain and wind outside! Whilst the paste did its magic Suzanne gave me an incredible scalp massage to relax; I’d have this treatment again just for the scalp massage, it was actually divine. I then showered off the mask and Suzanne massaged in an application of Body Shaping Cream to tighten and firm my skin.
Then it was time for the Facial which was tailored specifically for my skin. It is so nice having an expert give advice on what my skin really needed. I’ve never had a treatment which was customised especially for me! During the entirety of the treatment I felt like I was in such good hands, bespoke treatments are the epitome of luxury. Suzanne chose the hydrating range for my dried-out winter skin. The facial began with an Eye and Lip Cleanse using gentle eye make-up remover and a Facial Cleanse using cleansing milk with Alpine herbs. This rid my skin of all the envrionmental impurities which had been clogging my pores. Then Suzanne used a gentle Refiner exfoliating cream which left my skin ready to feel the full benefit of the next products. A lovely smelling Toning Lotion with chamomile was used and then an absolutely brilliant face Massage using Blue Orchid face treatment oil for dehydrated skin. I had never had a face massage and it sounds a little odd, but it felt so good. I think it was having my sinuses massaged and the light cooling movements around the eyes; I could feel the last ounce of tension melt away, my jaw unclenched and I could have drifted off to sleep on the warmed massage bed.
After this Suzanne applied a Hydra Quench Face Mask then to finish the delicious Hydra Quench Intensive Serum which acts as a carrier for the last two products to take all the healing ingredients deep into the skin, so it can really be healed.
Finally the Hydra Quench Cream and Eye Contour Gel were applied. After the treatment I went straight out and purchased five of the products used in the treatment as I thought they were so great.
