Gallery Student Art Exhibition

This year?s Gallery Magazine Student Art Exhibition is well underway, with the five finalists whittled from a multitude of entries sent in from
local art students both home and away.

It took three judges around five hours and a significant amount of tea and coffee to argue it out (in a civilised manner, of course) and come to a decision about who the final five local art students to be shortlisted should be this year, and here they are; Danny Booth, Alex Chase White, Rachael Dorey, Jonny Milward and Helen Barnes.

The work chosen varies from three-dimensional pieces and photography to an oil painting, albeit not in the traditional sense. All of the finalists shown here all submitted work based upon well explained original concepts that also displayed exceptional attention to detail that caught the attention of the judges? eyes and minds, all of whom came from differing artistic backgrounds.

The prizes and winner, who is to be chosen by last year?s winner Alexandra Dessain, will be announced at the preview on Monday 21st July between 5:30 and 7pm at the Jersey Arts Centre?s Berni Gallery where it will remain on display until Saturday 9th August for the public to see, so why not drop by and take a look?
