Meet the Close Finance Rowing Team

Close Finance CI recently announced their sponsorship renewal of the Close Finance CI rowing team for the 2019 coastal rowing season. 

The crew is led by Michael Rive (Stroke) who is a former Sark to Jersey winner. He also placed 11th in the World Championship Men’s Quad in 2013 and won a bronze medal for the British Offshore Championships 2018. 

Keeping the crew coordinated is Cox, Megan Barette. This is Megan’s first year coxing coastal rowing after previously coxing at university. 

William le Quelenec (Two seat), another former Sark to Jersey winner, also holds achievements as 18th place at the World Championships 2017 and bronze medal winner at the British Championships Men’s Quad 2018. 

Lee Wells (Three seat) is the team’s newest recruit, having over 30 years rowing experience under his belt. He too is another former Sark to Jersey winner, having first taken the title some 20 years ago.

The team is completed by Andy Bowman (Bow) another former Sark to Jersey winner, bronze medal holder for the British Rowing Championships Men’s Quad 2018 and 18th place World Championships 2017. 

In recent events, the team celebrated yet another Sark to Jersey win at the end of June this year, and are looking forward to competing in Hong Kong for the world championships in November.

Close Finance CI look forward to supporting the Close Finance CI rowing team throughout the 2019 season.
