De Gruchy Commit to Helping Young People with Cancer

As part of their ongoing commitment to support the local community, De Gruchy department store has announced CLIC Sargent (Jersey) and Teenage Cancer Trust (Jersey) as their charities of choice for the next 12 months. Their goal is to work together with staff and customers to match the £10,000 total that was raised during their bicentenary year last year.  To mark the announcement, on Saturday 16th April all members of de Gruchy staff dressed in blue or pink (the charities? colours), collection boxes were placed around the store, and blue and pink cakes were sold in Upstairs at de Gruchy with all proceeds contributing to the fundraising target.  A customer and separate staff raffle are also being held to get everyone into the fundraising spirit. Future plans include a de Gruchy sponsored walk, being held on Sunday 3rd July along the Avenue and two de Gruchy Managers will take part in the ITEX walk – one of them is also doing the ITEX challenge in Guernsey to go the extra mile.
