People, Purpose and Progress

In a world where work is changing faster than ever, finding the right fit, whether you’re hiring or job-hunting, has never been more important. Few understand this better than Gemma Marshall, Director of Park, Jersey’s leading recruitment specialists. We caught up with Gemma to talk about what’s next for the world of work, how Park is helping employers and candidates stay ahead, and why connection, culture, and adaptability will be the cornerstones of success in 2026.

As we look toward 2026, the world of work continues to evolve at pace. Hybrid models, emerging sectors and changing candidate expectations are reshaping the way businesses hire and people build careers. At Park, we combine insight with a human-first approach, helping employers and jobseekers navigate this dynamic landscape with confidence.

REFLECTING ON 2025

This past year has been incredibly rewarding for us at Park. We’ve published our Market and Insights Report, hosted continued coffee and conversational insights sessions and strengthened our relationships with local schools and 6 forms, all whilst continuing our collaborations with industry peers, clients and local businesses. These experiences have deepened our connections, celebrated shared successes, energised our approach and reinforced our commitment to supporting employers and candidates in practical, meaningful ways.

FUTURE TRENDS AND OPPORTUNITIES

Looking ahead, 2026 promises growth in financial services, technology and sustainability-focused roles. Employers are seeking adaptable, skilled professionals, whilst candidates increasingly prioritise flexibility, development and purpose-driven work. Park continues to help businesses prepare for the workplace of the future through strategic insight and practical guidance, ensuring they stay ahead in a competitive market.

SUPPORTING EMPLOYERS

One common mistake companies make when recruiting is moving too quickly without considering culture fit. We help businesses attract and retain the right people by combining market intelligence with strategies that highlight their unique strengths. With hybrid and flexible working here to stay, Park ensures companies remain competitive while building engaged, long-term teams.

GUIDANCE FOR CANDIDATES

For those looking to change careers or re-enter the workforce, preparation is key. Research growth industries, develop in-demand skills, and focus on transferable experience. Beyond CVs, networking, interview performance and personal branding are what make candidates stand out.

At Park, we’re proud to help people find roles where they can thrive, not just work.

LOOKING AHEAD

Partnering with a recruitment specialist transforms the hiring experience. Expertise, insight, and human understanding make all the difference. As 2026 approaches, adaptability, connection, and preparation will define success and Park is ready to guide businesses and candidates every step of the way.
